Tori Mac Drums
Breaking tradition and breaking stereotypes, Tori Macchi, at age 12, traded in her ballet slippers for a pair of drumsticks. With no prior training or drumming experience, she purchased her first set of drums, signed up with a private teacher, and set out to steadfastly pursue what she instinctively knew was her true passion — the life of a drummer.
High school experiences in marching band, concert band, jazz and steel drum ensembles introduced her further to a variety of styles and helped her hone her drum skills in a variety of musical genres.
“Tori was instrumental in forming the band “Rockin One Way,” where she still performs as the lead drummer. The band showcases frequently throughout the Metropolitan NY area and has gigged for numerous charity and disaster relief programs.”
Tori’s long blond hair and striking blue eyes are a dominating presence on stage. She is a captivating force, especially when hammering out a rock-and-roll beat.
Tori’s influences include: Steve Gadd, JoJo Mayer, Carmine Appice, Anton Fig, Brent Fitz and Chad Smith, with whom she recently had an opportunity to jam — an unforgettable event in her budding, young career.
As she continues her never-ending quest to learn and to improve, Tori hopes to be a role model to other young girls who may also aspire to break tradition and to pursue their dreams to become a drummer.
